Walk through any water treatment plant and look at the oldest steel in the building – it is thin, pitted and streaked, even where no liquid ever touched it, because the air itself carries corrosive fumes. A corrosion resistant FRP tank is designed for this double exposure: the resin-rich inner liner handles the stored chemical, and the reinforced outer wall handles the fume-laden atmosphere, with no paint system in between to be the weak link.

The composite wall is wound in one continuous process, so the corrosion barrier, the structural layers and the UV-stable exterior are fused into a single laminate. Dosing tanks for ferric chloride and alum, brine saturators, effluent buffers and process day tanks built this way have one maintenance instruction: look at it once a year. That is the whole manual.
